Brookhaven College warns students about mountain lion on campus

Brookhaven College is warning its students about a mountain lion that was spotted on the northern side of campus Saturday afternoon.

Brookhaven police said they spotted a mountain lion near the college’s power plant around 3 p.m. Saturday. It has not been seen since Saturday, but animal services found new animal tracks on Monday, said Meridith Dansorth, director of marketing at Brookhaven.

“We have never really had a real confirmed sighting of a mountain lion that I am aware,” Dansorth said. “We want people to be aware and to be careful.”
