As someone who tried to be an English major for a few semesters, I can tell you that most English departments have pointedly abandoned concepts like ‘literary merit’ and ‘the Western canon’ in favor of ones like ‘diversity’ and ‘social awareness.’

There is No Enforcement of the Ohio State Smoking Ban

Ohio State, which earlier this year banned all tobacco use on campus, has absolutely no way to enforce this ban. In fact, the committee which enacted the ban didn’t even think about actual enforcement. Talk about only caring about PR.

A report released Wednesday by the U.S. Accountability Office says that student loan debt owed by those 65 years and older has jumped to $18.2 billion, all the way up from $2.8 billion in 2005.

I think the doctrine of ‘inclusiveness’ has gone a little bit too far when NO group is allowed to be insular. There is such thing as freedom of association, and that does in fact require you to be free to NOT associate with someone.
