Stop coddling college crybabies

How far will this nonsense go before a line is drawn in the sand and sanity intervenes to reintroduce freedom of thought to higher education? It’s nothing new that a relatively small segment of callow, idealistic youngsters — inevitably “progressive” — take their turn at activism as college students.

There is no venue today more politically correct and sanctimoniously liberal than higher education, replete with academic departments “studying” and glorifying every conceivable ethnicity, race and gender. Nonetheless, the current generation of student activists is overcome by some imaginary insensitivity that surrounds them. With self-righteous indignation inflamed by hyper-narcissism they demand a college campus be “a warm, caring, welcoming, safe place.” An ideological sanctuary from ideas and expressions that might hurt their tender feelings, invulnerable to even the most infinitesimal “microaggression.”
