Being a recruited athlete can change everything in the selective admissions process.

Forbes reports.

Should Football Be Part Of Your College Search?

Recently I interviewed a multi-talented young man who is weighing the pros and cons not only of where to go to college, but of whether or not to continue to play football or pursue another sport in which he also has great potential. The conversation resonated with me because football was part of my college search many years ago. On the eve of Super Bowl 50, I know what I hope the young man will decide to do.

As a college athlete, secondary school coach, college counselor and now a university admissions officer, I have always understood the student-athlete desire to continue to play a sport after high school, and helped the students in my care whenever and wherever possible. Being a recruited athlete can change everything in the selective admissions process, so I always did what I could to help student-athletes pursue sports to help their chances, too.
