University sponsors campaign to undermine ‘white privilege’

The University of Minnesota – Duluth (UMD) sponsored an ad-campaign designed to achieve “racial justice” by raising awareness of “white privilege.” The project claimed “society was setup for us [whites],” and as such is “unfair,” through an aggressive campaign of online videos, billboards, and lectures.

The school became the focus of national and foreign news media, resulting in thousands of phone calls and emails from individuals expressing discontent. Soon after UMD released a statement notifying media they had “indefinitely suspended” sponsorship of the controversial campaign.

Berkeley administration kills police department’s plans to acquire tank

In June the University of California – Berkeley’s Police Department acquired a grant through the Department of Homeland Security to purchase an eight-ton tank. The tank they sought to purchase is often equipped with a rotating roof hatch, powered turrets, gun ports, a battering ram, and a weapon system used to remotely engage a target with lethal force.

However, after Campus Reform’s report lead to dozens of news stories in national and local media, the university announced it had terminated plans to acquire the “Armored Response Counter Attack Truck.”
