Why would someone do such a thing? Here’s a crazy idea… If you don’t agree with Catholic Doctrine, don’t go to a Catholic college.

Memorial for aborted babies trashed at DePaul University on Roe v. Wade anniversary

On Tuesday afternoon, the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, vandals allegedly destroyed an anti-abortion display on the main campus of the nation’s largest Catholic university.

At 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, members of the DePaul University chapter of Young Americans for Freedom erected a makeshift monument marking the Supreme Court’s landmark — and still controversial — decision on abortion.

The display was part of YAF’s Flags for Life Project, according to YAF’s blog. Club members set up 500 colored flags on the campus quad in Lincoln Park to symbolize the lives they believe are lost each day as a result of legalized abortion. Half the flags were blue, and half were pink.

The conservative activism organization reserved space for the display, said YAF spokesperson Kate Edwards, and school officials had blessed the project.

At about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, club members allegedly returned to remove the display. To their surprise, however, the display had been wrecked. Someone had removed the flags and stuffed them into several trash bins near the entrance to the library on the east side of the quad.

Kristopher Del Campo, who chairs the DePaul YAF chapter, contacted public safety officials, who are reportedly investigating the incident.

Del Campo maintains that leftist students destroyed the display. “It is a sad thing to see that liberal-minded students aren’t tolerant, and don’t respect the views of those who respect the lives of the unborn,” he said.
