Sexually explicit banner at off-campus house at Ohio university causing controversy

A banner at an off-campus house at Ohio State University is causing a stir with a sexual message that is aimed at young women and mothers.

The sign at a house on East Lane Avenue advertises the house as a “daughter drop-off” and also invites some moms to visit.

Benjamin Johnson, director of media relations, said there is “no place” at the school for this type of language.

“At Ohio State, there is no place for any behavior that sexualizes or demeans anyone,” he said in a statement.

“The BuckeyesACT Task Force has been working hard to create a positive campus culture and combat sexual misconduct and relationship violence in all forms, and we urge the university community to reflect those values as they return to campus for the new academic year.”

A student who lives at the house told NBC4 that he and his roommates meant the sign as a joke, and would take it down.

Similar signs last year prompted the university to look into the situation.
