Sixty Percent of Americans Want Tuition-Free College
Tuition-free college was more popular with millennials than baby boomers.
CNBC reports.
Over 60% of Americans back tuition-free college
Tuition and fees at a four-year public university averaged $9,410 this past academic year. Now a majority of Americans want to cut that price down to zero.
Sixty-two percent of Americans said that they support making public college tuition free for anyone who wants to attend, according to a survey by Bankrate, which polled 1,000 people in late July. The overall margin of sampling error was plus or minus 4 percentage points.

2 problems here. One, free isn’t really free. Somebody will be paying for it and when it’s “free” it will be more expensive to get less for it. 2nd, that when someone “wants” to attend vs being qualified to attend. We have become a culture where “wanting” has replaced “earning” and become a new entitlement. The gov isn’t there to supply people with what they should earn for themselves.
