LGBT Activists Are Trying to Keep Brigham Young University Out of the Big 12
LGBT activists are going after BYU because of its connections to Mormonism.
The Daily Caller reports.
LGBT Activists Want To Ban BYU From The Big 12 Because Of Mormon Positions
The Big 12 received a letter from national LGBT groups on Monday urging the college athletics conference to bar prospective new member Brigham Young University from joining as an expansion school.
The letter, signed by 25 groups including Athlete Ally and GLAAD, raises concerns that BYU’s religion-based honor code will give rise to “homophobia, biphobia and transphobia both on and off the field of play.”
“Currently, the Big 12 as a conference is overwhelmingly LGBT-inclusive,” the letter continues. “BYU, conversely, actively and openly discriminates against its LGBT students and staff. It provides no protections for LGBT students. In fact, through its policies, BYU is very clear about its intent to discriminate against openly LGBT students, with sanctions that can include suspension or dismissal for being openly LGBT or in a same-sex relationship.”
“BYU’s anti-LGBT policies are bad for the Big 12 sports community, especially student-athletes.”
As a private university, BYU has the right to mandate all students and faculty maintain behavior consistent with tenants of the Mormon faith.
While engaging in same-sex relationships is strictly forbidden under the university’s honor code, the same code specifically states that the school will only “respond to homosexual behavior rather than to feelings or attraction and welcomes as full members of the university community all whose behavior meets university standards.”

The LGBTers would have nothing to fear if someone informed them that the BIG 12 is a sports league, not a penis.
Just remember, the Gays, then gays and lesbians, then gays, lesbians queers and transgenders (yes, a mental disorder mixed in with sexualities, but hey, they need the votes) pushed and pushed until they were included, and other groups took them seriously. Now that they are at the table, they want to throttle everyone else, exclude, banish and try to destroy anyone who isn’t just like them.
How stupid is this argument? It’s not like they represent ‘gay university’ with an all-transgender football team! They want to force other people to kick out someone they don’t like. Duh, weren’t they making the opposite argument 10 years ago. Losers…
