Post an Odd Job and Have a College Student Complete It with Sweeps

Life can be hectic. Between work and personal obligations, it sometimes feels like there just isn’t enough time leftover to take care of those chores and errands that pile up without fail. If you live in the North Carolina Triangle area, or in one of a few cities along the Northeast coast, there’s a service that can help you with those odd jobs (and no, we aren’t talking about Craigslist).

Morris Gelblum came up with the idea in 2004, when he was a junior at Brogden High School looking to earn some extra money. When he began attending UNC at Chapel Hill, he realized he could create a system that would benefit college students, who were notorious for being in debt and underpaid, as well as community members who needed help with their chores. He publicly launched Sweeps in 2006 with the help of his mom, Mary Lou Gelblum.
