Prepping for job market: college vs. technical training

After training for five weeks to be a truck driver Malachi Hill Bey will take his CDL truck driving test this month. If he passes, he will be making at a minimum, $42,000 a year.

The North College Hill resident, who is taking the training course through Napier Truck Driver Training in Hamilton, will have no student loans and immediate job opportunities, as CDL truck driving is one of he most in-demand jobs both regionally and nationally.

“The earning potential is high and I can travel across the United States,” he said. “And if I ever decide to go back to school, I would be able to pay for tuition on my own, given the salary.”
