Lake Michigan College suspends new president

The Lake Michigan College Board of Trustees has suspended the school’s new president.

Dr. Jennifer Spielvogel was hired in January to succeed retiring president Dr. Robert Harrison after his 16 years of service.

According to our reporting partners at WSJM, the LMC Board of Trustees sent a letter to staff on Friday, explaining that it “acted with the utmost consideration for the best interest of the College, our employees, students, and the communities we serve.”

The school did not explain why Spielvogel was suspended.
