Young voters support Sanders because he is likable and visionary, not because of his socialist views.

Harvard Poll: 79% of millennials don’t identify as “socialist” (Sorry, Bernie)

Yes, millennials love Sen. Bernie Sanders — but a new poll demonstrates that it isn’t because his supporters universally favor socialism.

Harvard’s latest poll of voters ages 18-to-29 revealed that while 54 percent of young voters have a favorable view of Sanders, 52 percent of likely young voters support capitalism. 41 percent support socialism.

And when you include all millennial voters, only 16 percent identify as “socialist,” while 79 percent refused that label. 19 percent identified as a “capitalist,” and 75 percent refused that label.
