Wheelock College professors allege anti-Semitic discrimination
Two Jewish professors at Wheelock College in Boston have filed federal workplace discrimination complaints against the school, claiming they were subjected to anti-Semitic discrimination after writing an article alleging a lack of Jewish perspectives at the school, The Boston Globe reports.
Eric Silverman and Gail Dines claim that Wheelock President Jackie Jenkins-Scott and others at the college have harmed their reputations and careers.
Silverman is a professor in the American Studies and Human Development departments, and Dines is a professor of Sociology and Women’s Studies and chair of American Studies.
“It was just the sort of ongoing pattern that was horrifying. It sort of took my breath away,” Silverman told The Boston Globe. One of Silverman’s complaints was that he was allegedly prevented from applying to administrative positions and accused of using racist language in the classroom, the newspaper says.
