This past weekend, news broke that another another alleged sexual assault had taken place on a college campus. This time, the reported attack was at Cornell University at the Psi Upsilon fraternity house, where chapter President Wolfgang Ballinger allegedly forced himself on a female student in an upstairs bedroom.
The Cornell police department posted on Facebook that Ballinger was charged with first-degree attempted rape, first-degree criminal sexual assault and first-degree sex abuse. A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday, and the Cornell Office of Fraternities, Sororities and Independent Living placed Psi Upsilon on interim suspension.
We spoke with Cornell students and recent graduates to get their reactions to both the news and Greek life on campus.
