Boston University Hockey Players Caught Gambling
One player will not play for the rest of the season.

Nick Roberto off BU hockey team amid gambling probe
Boston University has announced that junior Nick Roberto will not play for the team for the balance of the season.
The news comes at the same time that the school revealed it had investigated what it called “rumors” that one of its players was involved in a gambling issue. BU did not confirm that the investigation was focused on Roberto, who has not played in any games this season. His absence in October was described as a coach’s decision by coach David Quinn.
College Hockey News reported that Roberto was not the only BU player engaged in gambling, but that any such players involved are no longer with the team.
BU said in a statement that the accusations that sparked the investigation did not indicate gambling on college or professional hockey, but the school passed the results on to the NCAA. The NCAA then took its own action, which the school did not reveal.
