Funny how you don’t see the MSM mentioning this very often, huh?

Hillary Clinton is struggling to win over millennials and young women

It’s no secret that Hillary Clinton has a problem with young people, and young women in particular.

The Hill reported Tuesday morning that “Clinton faces challenge in winning over young women.” As others have done before, they took statements from young women who, while they like Hillary, don’t think that she’s qualified to be president merely because she’s a woman. These young women are also supporting Bernie Sanders.

A recent poll showed Hillary pales in comparison to Sanders in appeal to young people. While the poll doesn’t note gender differences it is still a worthy mention, especially since Hillary is considered by many to be the inevitable nominee.

The poll from NBC News/Survey Monkey shows Sanders has a 15 point lead over Hillary in the 18-29 age group as he leads her with 48-33 percent support. Hillary’s 48 percent is actually an improvement, as she had 26 percent to Sanders’ 54 percent earlier in October.

The Hill talked to those who suggested it was an issue that comes down to personality or generations:

Peter Hart, a top Democratic pollster, said millennial women are more “enamored” with Sanders partly because of Clinton’s personality.

While the group appreciates her policy chops and experience, “when it comes to the more personal side, whether she is easy-going, likeable, relating well, she does less well,” Hart said.

Katherine Jellison, a professor of women’s history at Ohio University, argues that, in some respects, it’s a generational issue.

“She’s your mom’s candidate,” Jellison said. “She and the Clinton machine seem like old news to a lot of millennials. And if you think about where youthful activism has been — other than LGBT issues — it really hasn’t been with gender issues but class issues, like the Occupy movement.”
