Bill Cosby loses honorary degree from Franklin & Marshall College
Bill Cosby has lost another honorary degree, this time from Franklin & Marshall College.
The college’s board of trustees voted unanimously last week to revoke the honorary degree in humane letters that was bestowed on Cosby, 78, by the college in 2000, according to Kate Carlisle, college spokeswoman. Cosby was also the graduation speaker that year.
Cosby has been notified of the decision, Carlisle said.
Franklin & Marshall is the latest of several colleges that have revoked honorary degrees since allegations of sexual assault have been swirling around Cosby, reaching a peak in July when unsealed court documents revealed Cosby’s admission to extramarital affairs with some of his accusers. Cosby has not been charged with a crime, and he and his attorneys deny or remain silent on many of the allegations.
