Report Says 63 Catholic Colleges Have Ties to Abortion Provider Planned Parenthood
Have progressives even taken over higher education at Catholic colleges?
It sure looks that way.
Peter Hasson of Campus Reform reported.
Report: 63 Catholic colleges have ties to Planned Parenthood
Sixty-three Catholic colleges and universities have ties to Planned Parenthood, according to an investigative report released by the Cardinal Newman Society.
The report, which is titled “A More Scandalous Relationship: Catholic Colleges and Planned Parenthood” follows-up on the Society’s 2011 report that revealed more than 150 Catholic colleges or universities had ties to the abortion giant. According to the report, the Cardinal Newman Society was “[p]rompted by recent videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s harvesting and selling of aborted baby body parts.”
The report divides the connections into six categories: Counseling and Medical Referrals; Internships and Job Referrals; Faculty, Staff and Leaders; Honors and Platforms; and Academic Activities and Referrals.
In one example, Georgetown University offers a library resource guide titled “ Health Inequities / Political Economy of Health: Activism” that recommends both Planned Parenthood and NARAL: Pro-Choice America.
According to the guide, “Planned Parenthood has promoted a commonsense approach to women’s health and well-being, based on respect for each individual’s right to make informed, independent decisions about health, sex, and family planning.”
Similarly, Georgetown University Breast Care Center also lists Planned Parenthood as a “Partner,” without which their “ services would not be possible.”

Comments
The phrase “…has ties to…” always makes me suspicious. On the surface, it sounds damning. Often, the facts leading to such a phrase are threadbare. If a writer uses “…has ties to…” he or she must delve into irrefutable details in order to be credible. Until the facts become available, I won’t react to the report.
