Kansas State apologizes for ‘lewd’ halftime show
The last thing any university or team needs during the opening game of the college football season is problems on the field. Saturday, Kansas State got just that, but not from its football team.
During the halftime show of Kansas State’s opener against South Dakota, the team’s marching band attempted a performance showing a University of Kansas Jayhawk (the school’s rival) being attacked by the USS Starship Enterprise from the Star Trek television show.
But it just didn’t work out like they planned. Almost immediately, the Twittersphere erupted when it appeared that the on field choreography display went lewd.
Apparently recognizing the mistake, the school quickly released a statement of apology and published its drill sheet of what the show was supposed to look like.
