Mountain Lion Spotted Near Stanford
You wouldn’t want to encounter one of these on a nature hike.
The LA Times reported.
Mountain lion spotted near Stanford University
Watch out budding tech moguls, there is a large furry feline roaming near Stanford University’s campus.
A mountain lion was spotted on the south side of the university, near Gerona Road and Junipero Serra Boulevard, about 7:50 p.m. Thursday, officials said.
University safety officials searched the area but there have been no additional sightings reported.
Mountain lions are known to roam the hills near the campus, including the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, Stanford’s 1,189-acre field research site five miles west of the main campus.
A network of motion-activated infrared cameras has recorded more than 40 photographs and videos of mountain lions in different areas of the preserve between 2009 and 2011.
