Vince Vaughn Likes the Idea of Guns in Schools
Vince Vaughn waded into political waters once again in a recent interview with GQ. An oft times vocal libertarian, Vaughn seldom shies away from explaining his political opinions when asked.

Vince Vaughn: ‘Of Course’ Guns Should Be in Schools
Noted Hollywood conservative Vince Vaughn spoke at length about his political views in a recent interview with GQ. The actor’s atypical political convictions don’t often make the news, but this time the context is a little different: Vaughn thinks American schools should have more access to firearms.
According to The Guardian, the actor launched into the topic when the GQ interviewer asked whether or not he thought guns should be allowed in schools as a defensive measure. Vaughn’s immediate response was emphatic:
Of course. You think the politicians that run my country and your country don’t have guns in the schools their kids go to? They do.
And we should be allowed the same rights. Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat. Taking away guns, drugs, booze… It won’t rid the world of criminality.
Aside from the unsurprising libertarian stance that’s readily apparent in Vaughn’s words, the actor also spends some time explaining his position in regards to the Second Amendment:
We don’t have the right to bear arms because of burglars…We have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. It’s not about duck hunting, it’s about the ability of the individual. It’s the same reason we have freedom of speech. It’s well known that the greatest defense against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back.
