Authorities Identify Suspect in Anti-Semitic Graffiti Incident at Stanford University
A suspect has officially been identified in the swastika painting incident at Stanford University in California. Public safety officials have released an arrest warrant to get the man into custody.
Two campus buildings, a fraternity and a dorm, were vandalized with anti-Semitic symbols in April. After more than a month of investigations Stanford Police announced on Monday that they identified a suspect for the crime.
It appears that the culprit was neither a student nor staff member at the university, however, the suspect’s name cannot be released because the investigation is still ongoing, Officer Bill Larson of the Stanford University Department of Public Safety, said in a statement to the Stanford Daily. “[We] will keep the campus community informed as additional events occur,” he said.
This hateful vandalism comes after an aggressive anti-Israel movement on campus this past spring. It was even reported that a student complained that she was being harassed because she was a Jewish student, and questioned on her stance on the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
