Microsoft Funds Joint University Program
The University of Washington and China’s Tsinghua University have teamed up to create the Global Innovation Exchange, or GIX.
Just 10 miles from the UW campus in Seattle, the new institute will feature computing and design labs, a prototyping facility, and collaboration and presentation spaces—built with $40 million in support from neighbor Microsoft.
Marking the first time a Chinese research university has established a physical presence in the U.S., GIX will open its doors in the fall of 2016 for global students and professionals to collaborate on real-world tech projects.
