Cuesta College employee charged in data breach; husband charged in drug case
UPDATE 4:40 p.m.: The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday it has filed charges against Lacey and Chad Fowler.
Lacey Fowler has been charged with a felony count of improperly accessing computer data.
Chad Fowler has been charged with a felony count of possession of heroin for sale and possession of methamphetamine for sale.
Both are scheduled to be arraigned in San Luis Obispo Superior Court on June 22.
Original story: The Cuesta College employee suspected in an electronic data breach that exposed private information of college staff was arrested Wednesday night and has since bailed out of San Luis Obispo County Jail.
San Luis Obispo County Assistant District Attorney Lee Cunningham confirmed Thursday morning that Lacey Fowler, a human resources analyst at Cuesta College, was arrested by Cuesta College Campus Police in relation to the breach.
