No gunman found Ohio college campus despite alert
TOLEDO, Ohio — Officials at the University of Toledo say they have no evidence that there is a gunman in the college’s student union.
Earlier Saturday, CBS Toledo affiliate WTOL-TV reported that the school issued an alert urging people to stay away from the student union.
Around 4 p.m. a man called the Toledo Police Department’s non emergency line saying he had stabbed his girlfriend in the student union, according to a statement from the university. The caller hung up and called university security with the same information.
Police had the building surrounded, guns were drawn, and officers were inside the building. All students and personnel were evacuated from the building.
After sweeps of the building conducted by police, no gunman was found, the statement said.
