Right now, there’s a well-organized, below-the-radar effort to render the Electoral College effectively useless. It’s called the National Popular Vote, and it would turn our presidential elections into a majority-rule affair. Would this be good or bad? Author, lawyer, and Electoral College expert Tara Ross explains.

The comments of Ms. Ross regarding the Electoral College, while factual in part, the current process and ‘winner takes all’ result does exactly what Ms. Ross says was the founder’s fear; that, a Majority would promote or result in Tyranny. She goes on to state that “every voter, in every state” would have their say. Do they?! Note even close. The facts are clear in the state of California wherein the MAJORITY dictates the outcome of 10’s of millions of other voters. LA / San Fran votes Dem, while large numbers of other districts vote Rep. The results are that their votes (electoral college votes) were taken away from them – thusly, their vote is of no consequence. If we the people want all votes to COUNT, then there can be no winner take all, but only the winner for that particular district. Under this method; every vote counts, every voter matters, and the candidate who wishes to win a campaign must give EQUAL time to every district.
