2 Alabama College Students Charged in Sexual Assault on Florida Beach

Two Alabama college students have been arrested on a charge of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman over spring break on a crowded Florida beach, law enforcement officials said.

Delonté Martistee, 22, of Bainbridge, Ga., and Ryan Austin Calhoun, 23, of Mobile, Ala., both students at Troy University, were arrested Friday and were being extradited to Bay County, Fla., where the attack occurred in March on Panama City Beach, Sheriff Frank McKeithen said.

The woman was assaulted by three men in a “gang-rape-type attack,” the sheriff said at a news conference on Friday. The authorities said they were searching for the third man and a fourth person, whose role in the attack they did not specify.
