Paine College Kicks Out 35 Students for Non-Payment of Tuition

Paine College releases 35 students after tuition non-payment issue
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) — Paine College has informed some of its students that they have been withdrawn from their classes and need to leave their residence hall by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Helene Carter, the assistant Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Paine, Dr. Samuel Sullivan, announced that Paine College will release 35 students due to non-payment of tuition. Sullivan is the interim president.
According to the release, some students have balances as high as $12,000. Those balances stretch over an 18 month period.
Students tell 12 when they went to talk to the President, he was not in his office today. They said the only way to get reinstated is to talk to the president directly.
In the letter to students, it states due to non-compliance with the paymentplan with Paine College Business Office, they have been administratively withdrawn from all classes at Paine College. It states the student must evacuate from their Residence Hall room by 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The letter was sent on Tuesday, April 28.
