The professor asked students not to share his remarks but they were already captured on video.

Prof. Tells Students Not to ‘Tell Anybody’ About His Vexed Tea Party ‘Analogy’ — He Didn’t Know It Was Already Caught on Video
A psychology professor at South Texas College in Weslaco, Texas, was seemingly caught on video last month comparing the tea party to the Nazis of the 1930s in Germany.
He then told his students not to “tell anybody” about his remarks — but one of his students had already started filming after he allegedly called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) a “bastard” for using the name “Cruz” to win his election.
“In 1931, which was really interesting, the Nazis — people were kind of tired of them. They’ve been around since 1920, 11 years now. They’ve won seats — they’re like the tea party! That’s such a good example,” the professor said. “Don’t tell anybody I said that though.”
He continued: “But in the sense of how they politically came to power, there’s a good analogy there. That eventually people realized, ‘Oh, these Nazis are a bunch of nuts,’ ‘These tea party people are a bunch of nuts.’ I mean, the analogy really is a good analogy.”
The student responsible for recording the comments, who asked to remain anonymous, identified the professor as Dr. Blake Armstrong. The video was recorded during a Nov. 17 class and uploaded on YouTube the same day:

Who does he think he is? Anything he doesn’t want retold should never have been told in the first place. To be accurate it is the left which is more like the nazis. But then, the left is bothered by the truth or any accuracy. That class must have been a waste of time and that prof is a coward.
Well, the Tea Party and the Nazis did run against the establishment, and both have won seats in the course of usual elections. That’s about where it ends. I guess goals, objectives, fundamental philosophies, and historical argument mean nothing to this air hole.
I’m old enough to have had professors who stated their views and would argue them. They never once asked to keep it quiet what they’d said. They wanted to argue (and we surely did!) This professor seemingly has no basis nor courage. It’s as though he doesn’t know why he thinks this way; he must’ve been told to…?
Some Professor – sheesh! His students ought to ask for their money back.
If I recall correctly, the term NAZI is actually an accronymn and stands for the National Socialist Party International. The prof is the NAZI–Tea party people don’t approve of socialism per se. Hope his topic isn’t history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
“Hope his topic isn’t history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Seriously. The German people didn’t conclude that “these Nazis are a bunch of nuts,” they elected enough of them to their legislature (Reichstag) that they were able to take over the government. Even after their defeat, there were many German national socialists still adamant about their party’s righteousness. Like today’s progressives, they were completely immune to facts. (Oooooh, did I just compare liberals/progressives with Nazis? Shut my mouth!)
A few things bother me about this posting. For one, the quoted statement taken from the professor does not match what was said on the video. This is minor, but it does go against the credibility of the writer/poster. The other thing is that the professor said that there were parallels in how the tea party came to power as compared with the NAZI party. The only direct comparison made was that they were both “nuts”. Now, I don’t agree with his opinion. But if someone is in the position of a student, he/she has the right to challenge the teacher. As far as the, “Don’t tell anyone” comment, that can be seen as a bad joke. Finally, its his personal opinion, so why should anyone really care what he says…why make a deal out of it. I don’t like hostess cupcakes, but that doesn’t mean I am fascist for expressing my opinion.
We are all extremely distraught to hear of your concerns. To avoid further badfeels, could I suggest Democratic Underground? kthxbye
