This is a nice piece of news right after Veterans Day.

Online university offers new scholarship to active-duty military, veterans
WGU Missouri is offering a new scholarship to help veterans, active-duty military, and their spouses go back to school. Its parent university, Western Governors University, is partnering with the National Military Family Association to offer a scholarship for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
The scholarship is up to $2,000 per student, and cuts the cost of tuition by a third. The university plans to award 50 scholarships to new students nationwide. At least five will be awarded to new Missouri students, and five are also reserved solely for NMFA and their network of military spouses. Applications are being accepted now through February.
“I tell my military friends that WGU Missouri is great for people who want to supplement military experience with a degree that’s valued by employers,” said Stephen Brewer of St. Louis, who is earning his bachelor’s degree in IT Network Administration and served as a telecommunications technician in the Air Force before joining the Missouri Air National Guard. “WGU’s curriculum uses current technologies that I’ll be able to use in the workplace. I’m also able to use the work ethic I learned in the military to finish my degree at a faster pace.”
