A senior football player at Ohio State University has been reported missing by his family.

The family of senior walk-on Ohio State University football player Kosta Karageorge has reported him missing after he left his apartment early Wednesday and has not been heard from.

His sister Sophia Karageorge said yesterday that Karageorge, a defensive tackle who wrestled for three years for the Buckeyes, was last seen at his apartment on E. 7th Avenue at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

She said his roommates told the family that he left to take a walk.

“He had some extenuating circumstances that night that lead us to believe he was upset,” she said.

Columbus police confirmed that a missing-persons report was filed, but detectives were not available to comment yesterday.

Police later traced his phone through GPS to W. 3rd and Elmwood avenues in Grandview Heights but have not recovered the phone.

“He did not take his motorcycle, and he does not have his car on campus,” his sister said.

“So he was either picked up, went on foot or took public transportation. He does not have his wallet or any identification on him that we know of because his girlfriend has his wallet.”

His sister said he was wearing black sweatpants over his jeans, black Timberland boots, a black hoodie with FOC on it and a black beanie on his head.

Karageorge, 22, is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 285 pounds. He recently shaved his head and wears a short beard.

His sister said he did not report for practice early Wednesday and was not at yesterday’s morning practice. Senior Tackle, a time-honored ritual, was scheduled for yesterday.
