Spelling Error Found on Diplomas for Northwestern University’s Journalism School
Oops! These things happen, even at journalism schools.
Ashley M. Williams of USA Today reported.
Journalism grads find mistake on diplomas
About 30 graduates of Northwestern University’s journalism school received a little surprise on their diplomas on graduation day.
The word “integrated” in the school’s name — Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications — was misspelled. The letter “n” was missing from the word.
One of 250 students who graduated Saturday pointed out the mishap, according to Al Cubbage, vice president for university relations.
“It was a mistake, and we are going to fix it,” Cubbage told USA TODAY Network. “The students will get new diplomas soon.”
