Prager University Video: The Truth about the Vietnam War
Given some of the disturbing similarities to the chaos erupting in Iraq, Prager University’s latest video about the Vietnam War is very timely.
Did the United States win or lose the Vietnam War? We are taught that it was a resounding loss for America, one that proves that intervening in the affairs of other nations is usually misguided. The truth is that our military won the war, but our politicians lost it. The Communists in North Vietnam actually signed a peace treaty, effectively surrendering. But the U.S. Congress didn’t hold up its end of the bargain. In just five minutes, learn the truth about who really lost the Vietnam War.

Even (real) Viet Nam veterans fall for the lie that we lost. They never heard about how the Democrats blocked aid when the North broke the treaty.
Such are the perils of politics and empire. Will the same story now be told about Iraq and Afghanistan? Will it yet be told of South Korea?
And for all the anti-war crowd: you were not anti-war, you were anti-US.
How do I know what was in your heart? Simple, show me the pictures of you protesting outside the Soviet and Communist Chinese embassies. They can’t, because they didn’t.
More people died in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in the 3 years after we left (late 75 to late 78) than died in all the wars in all 3 countries from WWII to 1975.
That’s right, more people died during peace time under communism than in 3 years, than during 40 yeras of WAR. (look it up)
We have Susan Rice’s book on Genocide. Sure enouough, she downplays the aftermath of the war. I wasn’t interested in reading further after that.
*under communism in 3 years* was what I meant to say.
The so-called anti-war movement was essentially racist. They believed that because people were not like us, they had no right or interest in personal freedom.
I grew up during that era. I expected to be drafter into it, and supported it. I campaigned for Democrats for Nixon in 1972 as a seventh grader (he carried 49 states).
The VietNam War then was like abortion is now. It was the only issue there was, as far as the Left was concerned. It was the real reason for Watergate. (See Partners in Power on Hillary’s motive.) Both Clintons were involved in pushing Watergate, in fact.
