Potential Candidate for White House Poet Laureate Offers “1-800-White Man Privilege Hotline”
Progressives around the country have gotten the memo: The newest meme to spread is “White Privilege”!
One of them, Denice Frohman, is a questionably talented poetess whose work is “predominantly focused on social change, and seeks to challenge the borders that divide us. As a queer woman from a multi-cultural background, her work is about claiming the power to be who you are by celebrating difference, and loving the parts of ourselves that do not fit neatly into dominant social categories.”
The staff of The College Fix has located once of her recent works that is a real ode to tolerance and diversity and is entitled, “1-800-White Man Privilege Hotline.”
“Self-described” educator Denice Frohman is apparently one of the best poetry “slammers” around. And “white privilege” is her latest target:
Her greatest hit, so to speak, is a screed called “Dear Straight People.” It has nearly a million views on YouTube. She’s back with a new anthem for the supposedly oppressed – “1-800-White Man Privilege Hotline.”
Hello! Are you a person of color looking to get a loan, a job or avoid police harassment? Please call the 1-800-White Man Privilege hotline now! Our roster of white men will come to your rescue in almost any situation.
Check it out in the flesh:
Given that America’s unofficial poet laureate Maya Angelou has recently died, I think The College Fix may have located the perfect one to fill that niche in the Obama Administration.
Comments
Her work sounds like it sucks.
Agenda driven poetry is either incomprehensible or horrible since the one with the agenda seldom takes the time to learn the technical aspects of poetry.
Oh, c’mon. That’s funny. At least the first part; then it gets ugly.
(Can I get a Black woman – say, my wife – to substitute for me in applying to a university or for a job corporate job?)
And since I’m Certified Non-Privileged (TM) (I took that silly test) can I get some sort of badge that would keep me from being hassled in a university setting? (Tattoos are against my religion, but we’re used to badges.) Or some sort of escort that would keep me from being hassled by Moslem students? (Why aren’t people who do those things deported?)
