It looks like that Louisiana may be the next state to repeal Common Core, joining Missouri, Indiana and Oklahoma.

Bonus – It’s good to see someone other than Obama using executive orders for a change!

Gov. Bobby Jindal says he will issue an executive order requiring competitive bidding for tests tied to Common Core education standards, an apparent attempt to derail Louisiana’s use of the standardized tests.

The Department of Education and the state education board planned to use Common Core-tied tests known as PARCC for students in third through eighth grades. The tests haven’t yet been purchased.

The Republican governor says the PARCC tests appear to be most expensive available, so he’s confident they couldn’t be chosen in competitive bidding. It wasn’t immediately clear what other test might compete with PARCC.

Common Core standards are English and math benchmarks adopted by most states.

Jindal claims the standards amount to a federal attempt to take over education.
