We recently posted a video of a Connecticut professors rant-fest, in which he said that Republicans were “Racist, misogynist, money-grubbing people” who want to stop blacks, Latinos from voting.

It looks like he is now getting a little exercise…by walking the statement back.

A professor at Eastern Connecticut State University has now apologized after a student recorded him going on an anti-Republican rant in class.

The apology came after CampusReform.org posted the audio (below) of Professor Brent Terry saying things like, “…racist misogynist, money-grubbing people have so much power over the rest of us and want things to go back, not to 1955, but to 1855.”

Tuesday night on The Kelly File, Megyn spoke to the student who recorded the rant, Jason Veley.

During a creative writing class, Veley said they were discussing a poem about social justice that led into politics.

Veley told Megyn he knew the conversation would get heated because he has had smaller experiences talking about politics with Professor Terry in the past.

In the recording, the professor talks about the 2014 election, saying, “It’s absolutely possible that Republicans will take over the Senate as well as the House. And we will live in a very, very, very different kind of country. I mean, colleges will start closing up if they, if these people have their way.”

…After class, Veley said the professor did not apologize. Instead, through emails, Terry allegedly doubled down on his stance and told Veley that he should’ve challenged him in class.

That’s when Veley decided to take the audio recording to the media, where it was posted by CampusReform.org. The university told Campus Reform, “Our faculty has academic freedom to conduct their classes in whatever way they choose, this is not a university matter.”

But Terry issued an apology in a statement through a university spokesman.

“I allowed my own political opinions to color the discussion. I regret the language I used and I apologize to any students in the room who were offended. As a liberal arts university, Eastern is known for encouraging debate and discussion about a host of social and political issues. My role in my own classroom is to keep the debate lively yet respectful. I did not meet that standard yesterday, and for that I am truly sorry.”
