The last time we checked in with the University of Windsor, it had becomes the first Canadian university to approve BDS through an undergrad vote.

The students have voted again, with intriguing results that might be far more inspirational to American college students as well as voters in our November election.

Christmas has come early for people generally upset with student governments and their absurd policies: The University of Windsor’s entire student government board has been ousted following a campus-wide election in which “None of the Above” defeated 12 different candidates for 12 different positions.

Elections for the governing board of the UW Students’ Alliance were held last week. Each of the 12 candidates for office were theoretically unopposed.

This perturbed many students who thought the nomination process was flawed if it permitted wholly uncontested elections. In protest, these students launched a social media campaign encouraging their peers to vote “None of the Above,” in each race.

After the ballots were counted, “None of the Above,” indeed came out on top in every single election.

Current student government members were saddened and shocked.

I’m still in shock,” said UWSA president Rob Crawford in a statement to The Windsor Star. “Especially from a position of corporate law, I don’t know what this means for the organization.”

Another election can’t be held until the fall, meaning that the board will consist entirely of vacant chairs all summer.
