No charges against Colorado English teacher who sexted high schoolers
Based on how much porn is hitting college campuses, when law enforcement declared that a former high school English teacher incommitted no crime when she sexted some young students, perhaps they thought her sexts were part of an AP Literature assignment.
The Daily Caller Education Editor Eric Ownes has the background of this story.
A former high school English teacher in Pueblo, Colo. committed no crime when she sent racy texts of herself dressed in panties — and only panties — to several male students, according to police.
The South High School teacher, Larisa Oringdulph, also admitted to kissing a 17-year-old student outside the school gym, which also wasn’t a crime, reports local ABC affiliate KRDO.
In Colorado, the age of consent is 17.
Oringdulph, 31, did violate a bland school district policy concerning the transmission of texts to students, though.
She abruptly resigned earlier this month and she still retains her teaching license.
Oringdulph was busted after a concerned mother found the image of the barely-clad English teacher on her son’s cellphone, explained KRDO in a previous story. It’s not clear how the mom determined that the woman in the photo is Oringdulph.
When police contacted Oringdulph, she said she had meant to send the raunchy text to her personal trainer.
Oringdulph’s husband later told the station that she had “resigned for personal reasons.”
