Violent Home Invasion Robbery In Columbia University-Owned Housing
A group of men allegedly robbed residents—and assaulted one—in an apartment owned by Columbia University last night. Students later saw police detectives discussing where a gun might have been thrown.
The incident occurred last night around 11 p.m. at 535 West 111th Street, which is a university apartment building. According to a scanner report, “Police are looking for three males with masks and armed with guns, and NYPD Mobilization 1 was requested.”
The suspects had pushed their way into an apartment, taking cash and cellphone from a resident. DNAinfo reports that the men assaulted the resident’s roommate “when he came home mid-robbery,” possibly with the gun. The roommate was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
Bwog received an email and flyer from Dean Kromm and reports that “according to her, there were actually four people involved, and the robbery happened at 10:20 pm. Anyone with information should call NYPD detectives at (212) 678-1351.
