File this op-ed under “Delusional”.

Bill O’Reilly’s column last Saturday was an example of faulty logic. He claims universities prefer “liberal” speakers and professors and ignore “conservative” ones, universities being bastions of “liberal indoctrination.”

When you stop laughing I will continue. …

Consider scientific principle, since college is largely about intelligent pursuits. Scientific investigation doesn’t begin with pre-decided conclusions and then acquire reasons to justify them, but instead acquires data to make conclusions based on that evidence. In modern society, we supposedly won’t judge others based on skin color, socioeconomic status or labels. Universities don’t either, operating by scientific principle, with someone’s political “label” being irrelevant.

Universities don’t exclude “conservatives” while welcoming “liberals” because of their labels, but for their beliefs and their reasons for having them. Universities are bastions of something, and it isn’t just being banners of “liberalism.” Our centers of learning will exclude unfounded conclusions, prejudice, cultural elitism and bigotry, while welcoming fact, scientific pursuit, intelligent investigation and dialogue. Labels serve only the pursuits of prejudice and have no place in our schools.

I must admit, this piece gets my “ROFLMAO” rating.
