It’s nice to know some of America’s institutions of higher learning go out of their way to welcome the brave men and women of our military.

Brian McVicar of M Live has the story.

Davenport University named military friendly school

CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, MI — Davenport University has been named a military friendly school for the third year in a row by the website G.I. Jobs.

The website’s military friendly school list showcases what it considers colleges and universities that provide the most support services for veterans, according to Davenport.

A number of institutions throughout West Michigan also made the list, including Grand Valley State University, Cornerstone University, Ferris State University and Grand Rapids Community College.

“Davenport University is proud to continue recognition as a G.I. Jobs Military Friendly School,” said Scott Lemmon, director of Admissions and Partnerships. “Davenport strives to continue and expand the benefits and services offered to military students.”

Davenport says it has a “robust” population of student veterans, and the university employs veterans in its military admissions team.
